You: Staying Young: The Owner's Manual for Extending Your Warranty

From the Authors of the #1 Bestselling YOU: On A Diet and YOU: On a Walk

Wouldn't you like to know how to prevent your body from aging badly? Most of us believe that at age 40 or so, we begin the slow and steady decline of our minds and bodies. According to Dr. Roizen and Dr. Oz, that's a mistake. Aging isn't a decline in our systems. It's actually very purposeful. The very systems and biological processes that age us are designed to help us when we're a little bit younger. Our role is to learn how those systems function so we can reprogram them to work the way they did when we were younger. Your goal should be: die young at any age. That means you live a high quality of life (with everything from working joints to working genitals) until the day you die.

At the core of YOU: Staying Young are the Major Agers -- 14 biological processes that control your rate of aging. Doctors Roizen and Oz explain the principles of longevity and many of the causes of aging and how to fight their effects. Also included in a printable PDF file is a 14-day plan to help you integrate important processes into your daily life in order to make staying young routine.

YOU: Staying Young is filled with signature YOU Tools, including YOU tips and memorable metaphors to bring the science alive and help you understand the most fascinating machine ever created: the human body.

5excellent  Nov 07, 2009
dr oz & roizen make understanding the human workings of the body simplified, interesting & comical by using cartoon illustrations. if i had this book when i went to nursing school it would have made the physiology part of the body so easy. i love oprah's dr mehmet oz:)

4Does it get better?  Oct 24, 2009
I like Dr Oz. This book is not "him". It's boring actually. There is plenty of information on life and health. I could be better produced. Ho-humm

4Very informative.  Oct 12, 2009
This is a very informative book. The one thing that I did not like the style in which it was written. I did not like the comic approach to the illustrations. This is the only bad remark I would give the book.

5It's a must!  Oct 02, 2009
I love this topic and these Docs have done a great job of bringing the new research and good news on aging to the public. Knowing how our bodies work and why they age is a tremendous amount of knowledge. Most people don't have this knowledge. It's available. But they don't tap into it and use it. With this book, you'll know what happens to your body and what you can do to help it age with grace. Or, better yet, stop the aging process as we now know it.

1stupid, boring, and a waste of time--& that's just the good points  Sep 26, 2009
The keyword of the book is "cute". The occasional useful facts are buried in avalanches of cute stuff--endless witless puns, humorless facetious aside, "clever" printing (like hard-to-read white on black). The authors must either have consider themselves great wits or assumes that the readers are kindergarten kids.

I think there should be a law against such trash books.
